Pune Estate Agent Murdered Over Objection To Illicit Relationship; Two Arrested
Pune was shaken by the brutal murder of a real estate agent, allegedly due to his opposition to an illicit relationship between his sister-in-law and one of the accused. The incident occurred late Friday night, May 9, on Gujarwadi Road in the Pawarnagar area.
The deceased has been identified as Manohar Dinkar Shinde, 46, a resident of Pawarnagar, Mangdewadi, Katraj. According to police, the prime accused Rohit alias Budhaji Maruti Asore, 32, and his nephew Keshav Motiram Asore, 26 — both residents of Khopde Nagar, Gujar Nimbalkarwadi — have been arrested in connection with the case.
Investigations revealed that Manohar Shinde had strongly objected to his sister-in-law’s illicit affair with Rohit, a former auto-rickshaw driver who later entered the tourist business. Their opposition led to frequent arguments.
On the night of the incident, Rohit, accompanied by two or three accomplices, intercepted Manohar in front of Dnyanada Apartment in Pawarnagar. The group assaulted him brutally with punches, kicks, and bamboo sticks. A fatal blow to the head with a bamboo stick resulted in Manohar’s immediate death.
Bharati Vidyapeeth Police acted swiftly, dispatching two teams to trace the accused. Rohit was arrested in Pune, while Keshav was apprehended in Gevrai, Beed. A case of murder has been registered, and further investigation is underway under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Sawalaram Salgaonkar.
This shocking incident has once again raised concerns about law and order in Pune.
