Ahilyanagar, 12. May 2026: In a heart-touching example of humanity and dedication towards passenger care, personnel of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Central Railway, assisted a pregnant woman passenger in safely delivering her baby during a train journey under “Operation Matrishakti.”

The incident occurred onboard Train No. 11401 Pune–Supaul Express, when information was received that a pregnant woman travelling in the guard-side general coach was experiencing severe labour pain. Immediately upon receiving the information, on-duty RPF staff of Ahilyanagar Post, Constable Somnath Pathade and Head Constable Vishwajeet Kakade, rushed to the coach to assist the passenger.

Despite the critical and sensitive situation, the RPF personnel acted promptly with compassion, calmness, and responsibility. During the journey itself, the woman successfully delivered a healthy baby inside the train.

Thereafter, the RPF staff safely shifted both the mother and newborn from the coach and, with the assistance of station authorities, immediately arranged 108 ambulance service. Dr. Pradeep Suvarashe and ambulance driver Mayur Bole extended prompt support in shifting the mother and baby to Ahilyanagar Civil Hospital for further medical care.

Doctors later confirmed that both the mother and newborn baby are safe and healthy.

The woman passenger was identified as Roksana Khatoon (28 years), resident of Uttar Pradesh, who was travelling along with her husband Shri Jameel Belawar from Pune to Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Junction.

Deeply moved by the timely assistance and humane approach of the RPF staff, the family expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the Railway Protection Force and railway authorities.

This commendable act under “Operation Matrishakti” reflects the caring and humanitarian face of Indian Railways and highlights the commitment of RPF Pune Division towards passenger safety, emergency assistance, and human service.
