Mountain Run held at 11 hills in Pune on Dec 11

Giripremi had organised a Mountain Run and Mountain Walk to celebrate International Mountain Day on December 11

Giripremi, one of the pioneer mountaineer clubs of India along with Guardian Giripremi Institute of Mountaineering (GGIM), the first mountaineering training institute of Southern India had planned to celebrate the International Mountain Day with unique activities including Mountain Run and Mountain Walk on 11 different hills in and around Pune on December 11, International Mountain Day. Pimpri Chinchwad Mountaineering Club, Nisarg Mitra, Vidya Valley School, Mount Edge Adventure and Wild Trails, Nisargraja, Think Green, Secondary and Higher Secondary Physical Education Corporation, Pimpri Chinchwad, Love- Care- Share, Veeravaidya Academy, Vasundhara Abhiyan Baner and many other organisations will join hands to celebrate the important day.  

Mountain Run and Mountain Walk was held at Taljai Hill (Hingane Canal), Taljai Hill (Sahakar Nagar), Vetal Hill (Patrakar Nagar), Vetal Hill (ARAI Parking), Mhatoba Hill (Paramhans Nagar), Hanuman Hill (Fergusson College), Ghoradeshwar Hill (Dehu Road), Baner Hill (Baner), Khandoba Hill (Dhayari), Pashan Hill (Pashan) at the dawn of December 11. 

11 Everesteers led the Mountain Run at all 11 locations, whereas 11 veteran mountaineers will led the Mountain Walk. The distance for both the events was fixed at 3 KM. Run and the walk were free and open for everyone above age 8. It was flagged off at 6.30 AM on Saturday. Giripremi and all the other associate organisations invited all the mountain enthusiasts to join the celebrations of 19th International Mountain Day.
