The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has taken a significant step to support students in response to the prevalent drought situation in the state.

An exam fee waiver has been introduced for students in drought-prone areas, specifically for those in classes 10th and 12th.

Anuradha Oak, MSBSHSE, Secretary announced this initiative through a press release. The waiver applies to regular students in government schools, private-aided schools, and unaided schools, as well as junior colleges, excluding self-financing schools.

The affected areas include 40 talukas in 15 districts, along with 1021 revenue divisions where drought-like conditions have been declared.

Students eligible for the reimbursement must provide necessary eligibility information along with their or their parents’ Aadhaar-linked bank account details to their respective schools or junior colleges.

The reimbursement process will be conducted online through RTGS or NEFT transfers directly to the student’s bank accounts. However, it’s crucial for the provided information to be accurate. Any discrepancies or incorrect details may result in students being deprived of the reimbursement.

To ensure the smooth implementation of this scheme, strict adherence to the submission timeline is necessary. Headmasters, Principals, Education Officers (Secondary), Divisional Deputy Directors of Education, and Divisional Board Secretaries are responsible for the timely submission of required information to the State Board.

All documents related to the Examination Fee Reimbursement Scheme must be maintained at the school or junior college level. It’s emphasized that the full responsibility lies with the concerned Headmasters and Principals to provide complete and accurate information within the specified timeframe.

This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on students and their families during these challenging times, highlighting the government’s commitment to supporting education in drought-affected areas.
