MSRTC bus hits divider on Old Mumbai-Pune Highway; No injuries reported

Pune: While rescuing a rickshaw puller on the old Pune-Mumbai highway, a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus collided with a divider. Fortunately, none of the passengers were injured. The incident occurred under the St. Mother Teresa flyover around 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

As per the information, the MSRTC bus from Borivali was going towards Pune on the highway. While passing from Chinchwad, a rickshaw driver tried to pass through the narrow space. Bus driver Tanaji Sarvade diverted the bus to the divider to avoid the accident. In the process, the bus hit the divider in which the front part of the bus was damaged. All the twenty passengers, the bus driver and the carrier are safe.

Meanwhile, onlookers thronged to see the accident. The police cleared the crowd of onlookers and the slow traffic. The passengers of the bus were transferred to another bus and sent for an onward journey.
