The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has proposed shifting the current bus stand from the flyover of Bhakti Shakti Chowk to Shree Krishna Mandir near Bhakti Shakti Chowk for the ease of travellers.

However, a regular traveller has suggested shifting the location of the proposed bus stand from Shree Krishna Mandir to the Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Bus Terminal near Bhakti Shakti Chowk for the ease of travellers to use public transport services like auto-rickshaws, city buses etc.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Amol Deshpande, a regular traveler said, “The current proposed bus stand i.e. near Shree Krishna Mandir has no auto-rickshaw stands or public transport facilities. The most ideal place for the proposed bus stand is the Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Bus Terminal near Bhakti Shakti Bus Stop. For instance, I was coming back from Mumbai while travelling on an MSRTC bus. A passenger had to go to the Chikhali side. But no public transport services were available at the current bus stop. Hence, the MSRTC has inspected the area & finalized the location near Shree Krishna Mandir. However, if the bus stand is established at the Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Bus Terminal, passengers can avail public transport services easily.”

As per further information, the following will be some benefits if the bus stand is shifted at Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Bus Terminal:

  • There will be no hindrance to traffic as there is space on the side of the bus terminal which is under the flyover
  • Several passengers coming from Mumbai tend to further go to various parts of Pimpri Chinchwad like Nigdi, Moshi, Bhosari, Alandi etc. At such times, passengers can catch a PMPML city bus from the bus terminal
  • Apart from this, there is a rickshaw stand, and parking facility under the flyover, so it will be easy for the passengers to reach home

An MSRTC official said, “Active inspection hasn’t been done recently of the location for the proposed stand. However, we will inspect the site again & update.”
