MTDC offers 50 % discount to women travellers on accomodation

March 8 is celebrated as the International Women’s Day. The theme of 2022 International Women’s Day is ‘GENDER EQUALITY FOR THE SUSTAINABLE TOMORROW’. UNITED NATIONS has announced this theme in recognition of the fact that women in the 21st century are making significant contributions to building a more sustainable future by taking responsibility for climate change adaptation, mitigation and response. We feel that it is our first duty to strive for empowerment of women, who are facing the situation head on in all fields, as well as to show respect, dignity and love towards them.

Tourism minister Aditya Thackeray and minister of State for Tourism Aditi Tatkare, Tourism Secretary Valsa Nair and Managing Director MTDC Jayashree Bhoj approved 50% discount on accommodation, reservation for female guests and their families staying in the tourist accommodation of the Corporation for a period of 5 days from 6 to 10 March 2022. This 50% discount on reservation is only available on Sundays. Granted from March 6 to March 10, 2022. Also these concessions are 50% discount only on accommodation room reservation and accordingly EP plan (Only Room) will be implemented.

This discount is not applicable for breakfast, lunch and dinner in restaurants. The reservation cannot be canceled if a woman has reserved a room in accordance with the reservation concessions given on the occasion of Women’s Day.

“A special welcome will be accorded to the female guest who arrives at the Corporation’s tourist accommodation. The Information Technology Branch has made available the required PROMO CODES website (www.mtdc.co) for all tourist accommodation managers to provide 50% reservation discount to female guests, thus making these reservations transparent and smooth. Promo Codes are not applicable for tourist accommodation rented by the corporation. Also, these concessions are only valid for room reservation and will not be applicable for extra beds as well as conference halls, lawns. As the government has relaxed the restrictions on Corona, all the tourist residences of the corporation are being reserved on a large scale, ” said Deepak Harane, regional manager, MTDC, Pune.
