Mumbai – A tragic accident occurred in Worli on Sunday when a speeding BMW car collided with a motorcycle carrying a couple. The impact of the crash dragged the woman onto the car’s bonnet for 100 meters, resulting in her death and injuring her husband. Police are actively searching for the driver involved in this fatal hit-and-run incident.

The incident adds to the growing concern over reckless driving in the region, following a recent hit-and-run case in Pune where a 17-year-old minor driving a Porsche struck a motorcycle, killing two people.

The incident happened at around 5:30 AM. The couple, residents of the Koliwada area in Worli, had made an early trip to Sassoon Dock to fetch fish. While returning home with their catch, their two-wheeler was hit from behind by a speeding BMW. The collision was severe, causing their bike to overturn and throwing both the husband and wife onto the bonnet of the car. The husband managed to jump off the bonnet in a desperate attempt to save himself, but his wife was not as fortunate.

In the ensuing chaos, the driver of the BMW fled the scene, leaving the injured woman behind. She was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival. The police are actively searching for the driver involved in this fatal hit-and-run incident.

Meanwhile, Mumbai continues to deal with the aftermath of heavy rainfall that began on Saturday night. Many roads across the city are waterlogged, causing significant disruptions. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city is expected to experience generally cloudy skies with moderate rainfall throughout the day. The maximum temperature is likely to reach around 33 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to be approximately 26 degrees Celsius.

Authorities urge residents to exercise caution while traveling and to report any information regarding the Worli hit-and-run case to the police.
