Mumbai : Ajit Pawar takes oath as New Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra

Sunday afternoon kept everyone glued to their Television sets, as Maharashtra’s politcal scenario brought a major change.

Ajit Anant Pawar today took oath as new the deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The oath ceremony also saw nine MLA’s taking oath as ministers.

Chhagan Bhujbal, Aditi Tatkare, Dilip Walse Patil, Hasan Mushrif, Dhananjay Munde, Dharmarao Atram, Sanjay Bansode, Anil Bhaidas Patil took oath as ministers at Raj Bhawan, in Mumbai today afternoon. Ramesh Bais, Governor of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister and many ministers and MLA’s were present at the Raj Bhavan, Mumbai.

Ajit Pawar will share the post of Deputy Chief Minister post with Bharatiya Janata Party’s Devendra Fadnavis. According to the information, Ajit Pawar has support of 43 out of the 53 NCP MLAs. It is said that this move comes just days after Ajit Pawar had publicly expressed his action to step down as Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly.

Further today, it was known that, a group of NCP legislators met at Ajit Pawar’s residence in Mumbai. The meeting also saw attendance of party’s working president Supriya Sule and senior leader Chhagan Bhujbal. Party’s president Jayant Patil remained absent for the meeting.
