Mumbai, Aug 2:  Former zonal director of Narcotics Control Bureau Sameer Wankhede has filed a police complaint against journalist Ketan Tirodkar alleging that he has disseminated false and defamatory interviews regarding the 2021 Cordelia cruise drug case in which Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan was among those arrested.

In his complaint, the IRS officer said on June 9, a news video under the caption Cordellia Cruise Case was published and uploaded by Ketan Tirodkar on regional news channels, YouTube channel and other media without verifying facts.

Wankhede alleged the video lacked truth and defamed him.

Wankhede also said that in a sub-judice matter, giving out such videos amounts to interference in the process of imparting justice and such hindrance is punishable.

Such an act has caused him mental harassment, said Wankhede, requesting urgent intervention in the matter and also direct registration of offence against Tirodkar.

Wankhede has come under the CBI scanner amidst allegations that he and some other accused demanded bribes from the families of Aryan Khan and others arrested from the cruise ship in a narcotics case. The CBI has lodged an FIR in the case, which has now been heard in court.
