Mumbai Pune Expressway Accident : Container collides with divider and hits 3 cars : 2 dead and 4 injured

In an unfortunate incident on the Mumbai Pune Expressway on the 39.5 km (near Afcon office, near Dheku village) on the Mumbai lane a container broke the crash barrier and divider and further hit three cars on the Pune lane. Two people have died and four sustained injuries in the accident and are shifted to the hospital for further medical assistance. The accident took place at around 9.30 AM approximately.

Tanaji Chikhale, Superintendent of Police, HSP, Raigad who shared the information on the twitter said, “The traffic from Mumbai to Pune is diverted from Khopoli. The efforts are on to clear the Pune lane fast.”

A highway police official informed that there were three cars involved in the incident on which the tanker overturned leaving two passengers dead and four injured. The injured are taken to the MGM hospital for further treatment. The vehicular movement has been diverted to Khopoli road. T
