PUNE: A shocking and strange incident has emerged involving a Mercedes owner in Mumbai who fell victim to a bold scam. A man pretending to be a sales executive from a well-known Mercedes dealership deceived a real estate developer in Mumbai into giving him two prized Mercedes cars for supposed free servicing.

However, instead of servicing the cars, he went ahead and sold them in Pune. This unusual case has prompted legal action and a pursuit to apprehend the culprit. Let’s examine the details of this perplexing incident.

As per the information provided, accused has been identified as Mohammed Iqbal Qayyum Siddiqui. He successfully posed as a representative from the prestigious Mercedes Auto-Hangar Showroom and Service Centre. By offering loyal customers exclusive deals on free denting, painting, and servicing, Siddiqui managed to convince Nilesh Pavitralal Mehta, a real estate developer in Malabar Hill, to hand over his two vehicles, a Mercedes GLE 250 and a Mercedes C300.

Along with the cars, Siddiqui also obtained important documents and duplicate keys. He promises to return the cars within four days after servicing. However, as time passed, Siddiqui provided a series of excuses for the delay. It was only when Mehta received an unexpected call from an auto dealer in Pune that the truth started to unravel. The dealer inquired about the selling price of the two Mercedes cars that were supposedly up for sale.

To Mehta’s astonishment, he discovered that Siddiqui had received Rs 50,000 in commission from the Pune dealer for selling his vehicles. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, Mehta promptly reported the incident to the police, leading to the exposure of Siddiqui’s elaborate web of deception. The police have filed a case against Siddiqui under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code, and he is currently absconding.

Despite Siddiqui’s convincing act, his history of deceit has been uncovered, revealing multiple instances of fraud under his name. A thorough investigation is carried out in this case.
