Mumbai-Pune Expressway: Car Collides On Toll Divider Near Khalapur, Five Injured
Mumbai, October 24, 2025: A severe accident occurred early this morning near the Khalapur toll plaza on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. A car traveling at high speed from Pune to Mumbai lost control, collided with the toll divider, and was completely smashed.
The accident took place today morning when apparently driver felt dizzy.
Five people sustained injuries in the crash, including a toll plaza employee who is in critical condition. Two passengers in the car are seriously injured, while the remaining three suffered minor injuries.
Preliminary reports suggest that the car’s high speed and the driver’s sudden dizziness led to the loss of control.
The injured were immediately rushed to MGM Hospital, Kamothe, with the assistance of local residents. Police reached the site promptly and have begun an investigation into the accident. Authorities have highlighted the importance of adequate rest for drivers undertaking long journeys on the expressway.Sachin Pawar, Police Inspector, Khalapur police station told Pune Pulse that the injured were taken to the MGM hospital for medical treatment.
