Murder accused serving life sentence runs away from Pune jail
According to police, on Tuesday, a lifer serving an extended sentence broke free from Yerawada Central Prison, located in Pune, Maharashtra.
Ashish Jadhav, the prisoner serving a sentence for murder and violating the Arms Act, was assigned to work in the open jail’s ration department.
On Monday afternoon, he broke out of the jail, according to a Yerawada police station official.
The official further added that his disappearance from his barracks during the roll call revealed the incident. In this regard, a case has been filed under section 224 of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with resistance or obstruction of a person’s lawful apprehending.
