Pune: Just three days after a tragic incident in Mumbai claimed 16 lives, another billboard collapse has occurred, this time near Pune in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area.

The hoarding fell on a parked tempo, a car, and several two-wheelers due to strong winds.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in this incident.

The collapse took place around 4:30 pm on Thursday in the Moshi area of Pimpri-Chinchwad. Videos from the scene depicted the presence of officials from the fire department, police, and civic authorities, actively engaged in clearing the area of debris and assessing the situation.

The collapsed hoarding, measuring 30 x 30 feet, was situated on the roadside at Jai Ganesh Samrajya Chowk in Moshi. It fell onto a stationary tempo truck and multiple two-wheelers. Thankfully, due to the absence of individuals inside or around the vehicles, no injuries were sustained.

An official from the Pimpri Chinchwad police stated that a crane was deployed to remove the fallen iron structure. Efforts are underway to investigate the cause of the collapse and ensure the safety of other billboards and hoardings in the area.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of stringent safety measures and regular inspections for outdoor advertising structures. Authorities must prioritize public safety and take necessary steps to prevent such accidents in the future.
