Narcotics Cell of Pune Custom seized methamphetamine worth Rs 5 crores, four persons arrested

Four persons have been arrested by the Narcotics Cell of Pune Custom for allegedly possessing 1 kg of methamphetamine (crystal meth) worth Rs 5 crores.

The anti-narcotic agency said one of the accused had been intercepted at Khed Shivapur toll plaza on the evening of 29 May. According to officials, he was on his way to deliver methamphetamine to a Lonavala based man. Agency also arrested a man based in Lonavala.

During interrogation, two more names of handlers came to light from Satara. Following up this information, police have also nabbed them from Satara on yesterday night and will be produced in court on Wednesday.

Officials said, two of the accused were earlier working in a courier agency where they get to know about such traffic things later they became fully involved in this business.

According to officials, on 29 May evening one vehicle was intercepted at Khed Shivapur toll plaza near Pune resulting in seizure of 850 gm and follow up seizure  of 200 gm near Lonavala.
