Nashik Eatery Brings Mumbai’s Iconic Vada Pav Flavor, Reaches Rs 2 Lakh Monthly Turnover
Breaking barriers and redefining success, a determined woman in Nashik transforms her small vada pav stall into a thriving business, earning Rs 2 lakh a month.
In a world where women are continuously breaking barriers, Megha Chavan from Nashik stands as a shining example. To support her family, she started a humble vada pav stall, which has since grown into a flourishing business generating an impressive monthly turnover of Rs 2 lakh.
Megha has been running her vada pav center, aptly named ‘Mumbaicha Vada Pav,’ near Pathardi Phata in Nashik for the past six years. Inspired by her mother, who sold vada pavs before Megha’s marriage, the duo initially began making and selling the popular snack in the evenings to tackle rising inflation and support their family.
When Megha’s husband was transferred to Nashik, she relocated with him and found herself in unfamiliar territory. Undeterred, she drew upon her mother’s traditional recipe, adding her own twist with new spices to create a unique flavor that set her vada pavs apart. Megha started out alone, selling from a small handcart, often facing difficulties, including spoilage of ingredients.
Despite initial hurdles, Megha’s dedication paid off as her vada pavs began to gain popularity. Many questioned why she named her stall after Mumbai despite being in Nashik, to which she explained that her roots in Mumbai inspired her to bring the city’s beloved taste to the people of Nashik.
As word of her delicious vada pavs spread, Megha’s business flourished. From selling just 12 vada pavs on her first day, she now earns around Rs 2 lakh a month. Her success has also allowed her to provide employment to other women in need, with four women currently working at her eatery.
Located just 100 meters from Nashik’s Pathardi Phata, Megha’s ‘Mumbaicha Vada Pav’ has become a must-visit spot for anyone craving the authentic taste of Mumbai’s iconic street food.
