Need disability certificate ?; PCMC takes unique initiative
Through the campaign between May 10 and May 31, awareness will be raised among disabled people to obtain online disability certificate and global identity card.
Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will organize a campaign from May 10 to May 31 for the benefit of disabled people in the city. Through the campaign, awareness will be raised among disabled people to obtain online disability certificate and global identity card.
Online ‘Divyang Certificate’ and ‘Global Identity Card’ will be distributed to physically disabled citizens at Gyanjyoti Savitribai Phule Memorial in Pimpri, said Commissioner and Administrator Rajesh Patil.
As per the directions of the Commissionerate of Disability, Pune, the information of persons with disabilities residing in the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation will be compiled to determine the nature of assistance required by them for raising the standard of living. For this, a separate link has been created for the survey of persons with disabilities in the municipal area.
Details of the link have been made available on the official website of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation www.pcmcindia.gov.in. Persons with disabilities are required to fill up a survey form and go to website www.swavlambancard.gov.in to obtain “Disability Certificate” and “UDID Card”.
Commissioner Patil has appealed to the organizations assisting persons with disabilities to take initiative in this regard and help in compiling information.
In this regard, single window scheme will be started in all the eight field offices of PCMC. Commissioner Patil has also appealed to the disabled citizens to take advantage of all the schemes available to them.
Ajay Charthankar, Deputy Commissioner, Urban Development Planning Department asked disabled people to make use of the opportunity and obtain the cards.
