Pune: Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights is all set to introduce a new set of rules to control child marriages.

“We will be introducing a new set of rules and regulations which will be out in 15 days. Stricter action will be taken against people found violating the rules,” said Sushiben Shah, the new chairperson of the Maharashtra Commission for Protection of Child Rights. 

Stringent rules will also be laid against child labour and child trafficking activities.

“Soon we will be introducing a scheme for villages across Maharashtra. The village with zero child labour case will be felicitated,” added Shah.

 Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has also started addressing complaints after the gap of two years and it has 300 pending complaints.

“Majority of complaints were of schools charging extra fees. We will try to ensure justice to all of them,” added Shah.
