For reservation seat, PMC to hold a lucky draw

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will conduct a lucky draw for reservations in the civic polls for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and women in the city on Tuesday.

The PMC is divided into 58 wards and total elected representatives in such wards will be 173 seats which will be reserved under these categories. The draw mechanism has been used to make it a clear and transperent method.

There will be total of 23 for scheduled caste (SC) , two candidates for schedule tribe (ST) and 87 women seats. The lucky draw will be held at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch. The only ward with a two-member panel already has one seat reserved for a woman.

A four-memeber panel was constitited for the last civic polls. All aspirants are hopeful of getting a party in spite of quota for the OBC and women.

Many of them got party tickets in the polls. However, in the current scenio there will be total three-member panel for each ward, which means that one corporator each will be dropped from all wards.
