In a tragic incident, a newlywed woman from Hangarga (Tul) in Tuljapur taluka died after falling from a 100-foot tower at Naldurg Fort while taking a selfie. The accident occurred due to a sudden gust of wind that caused her to lose balance and plunge into the ravine below.

The victim, Nilofar (22), was married to Amir Mahebub Sheikh of Hangarga on May 20. Just eight days into their marriage, the couple, accompanied by Amir’s nephew Irfan Qasim Sheikh and friend Sachin Bhagwan Sirsath, went on a sightseeing tour to Naldurg Fort.

At around eleven o’clock in the morning, during a photo session on the upper tower of the fort, Nilofar stood at the north-west end to take pictures when a strong wind caused her to fall.

Despite being rushed to the government hospital for treatment, Nilofar succumbed to her injuries. Medical examination confirmed her death shortly after the incident.

The couple had only been married for a few days when this tragic accident struck, leaving their families devastated. Nilofar’s sudden death has left her loved ones in deep grief, with the incident profoundly affecting all who knew her.
