The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched the “One Vehicle, One FASTag” programme, aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the Electronic Toll Collection system and ensuring smooth traffic flow at Toll plazas.

Deadline extension:

The deadline for the “One Vehicle, One FASTag” programme and the completion of KYC updates for the latest FASTag has been extended until February 29, 2024.

FASTag KYC processing time:

According to the Indian Highway Management Company (IHML) website, KYC requests will be processed within a maximum of 7 working days from the submission date. The status can be checked on the customer portal, and if all documents are valid, KYC verification is accepted.

Incomplete KYC notification:

In case of incomplete KYC, the IHML website mentions that notifications will be sent via email, SMS, or the issuing bank’s application interface. Users are urged to monitor registered communication channels for updates and can update KYC online.

Checking status of multiple FASTags:

To check the status of multiple FASTags linked to a vehicle, visit the official link provided by NPCI, enter vehicle details, click ‘Submit,’ and view the status of all linked FASTags.

FASTag charges:

As per the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) guidelines, FASTag costs a maximum of ₹100. Some banks may offer it for free, and additional funds for the FASTag-linked wallet are collected by the bank.

Documents required for FASTag:

To purchase a FASTag, submit the following documents:

– Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle.

– Passport-size photograph of the vehicle owner.

– KYC documents as per the category of the vehicle owner:

  – Individual: ID proof, address proof, and a valid driving license.

Users are advised to adhere to the guidelines and utilize the extended deadline for compliance with the “One Vehicle, One FASTag” programme.
