To ensure that residents of Pimpri-Chinchwad do not face traffic congestion during the construction of the elevated corridor between Nashik Phata and Khed, MLA Mahesh Landge has directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to prioritize the construction of three proposed junctions and subways at Jay Ganesh Samrajya Spine Road, Bharatmata Chowk in Moshi, and Bhosari. This direction was given during the first phase of the project.

The Central Government has approved the eight-lane elevated corridor on the Pune-Nashik Highway from Nashik Phata to Khed. Due to the proactive efforts of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, approximately ₹7,500 crore has been allocated for this project. A meeting was held at the Municipal Corporation building to provide further details on the project.

Present at the meeting were Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh, NHAI Project Manager for the Nashik Phata to Khed Elevated Corridor Sanjay Kadam, Chief Engineer Shrikant Savne, Deputy City Engineer Pramod Ombase, Executive Engineer Bapusaheb Gaikwad, along with other concerned officials.

Suggestion for an Underpass Near Bhairavnath School…

The tendering process for the project has begun, and a joint meeting was held between the Municipal Corporation and NHAI to expedite the work. NHAI officials presented the project details during this meeting. In view of the traffic in Bhosari, Talawade, Chikhali, and Moshi, MLA Mahesh Landge suggested the inclusion of underpasses and subways, particularly an underpass near Bhairavnath High School and Junior College in Bhosari, to facilitate easier access for students and parents.

“The 32-kilometer-long elevated corridor from Nashik Phata to Khed will create a crucial link between major economic hubs, including Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and the Chakan industrial area. This project will significantly reduce travel time from Nashik Phata to Khed to just a few minutes. Additionally, the persistent traffic congestion in Talawade, Chikhali, Moshi, and Bhosari will be permanently resolved. It is crucial that the administration takes all necessary measures to prevent traffic congestion during the ongoing construction,” said Mahesh Landge, MLA, Bhosari Assembly Constituency, BJP, Pimpri-Chinchwad.
