Controversy Surrounds Chief Minister’s ‘Ladli Bahin’ Scheme Launch In Pune
The launch of the Chief Minister’s ‘Ladli Bahin’ scheme in Pune has been marred by controversy, with allegations of women being threatened to attend the event. Sharad Pawar Nationalist Party MP Supriya Sule has taken to social media to express her outrage, claiming that women who have received approval messages are being coerced into attending the program.
अरे सत्तेत बसलेल्या भावांनो,… pic.twitter.com/lRiUz3e1Kv

According to Sule, the messages threaten to cancel the forms of women who do not attend the event, which she has criticized as an attempt to exploit the ‘sister-brother’ relationship for political gain. She has challenged the authorities to cancel the form of at least one woman who is not attending the program, if they have the courage to do so.
The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi has also alleged that the scheme has been launched with an eye on the upcoming assembly elections, and that the event is being used to showcase the government’s achievements rather than genuinely empower women.
Despite the controversy, the state-level benefit distribution program is set to go ahead today at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, with over 15,000 beneficiaries expected to attend. The event will be attended by the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Union Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol, among other dignitaries.
The administration has made elaborate arrangements for the event, including cultural programs, meeting arrangements, parking, and amenities for the attendees. However, the controversy surrounding the event has cast a shadow over the launch of the scheme.
