Nigdi Company allegedly loses over Rs 24 Lakh; Police register FIR

Two workers in the accounts department of a Nigdi-based company are accused of defrauding for an astounding 24 lakhs. Between April 1st, 2022 and April 17th, 2023, the dishonest plan took place. As a result, a worried woman & complainant, identified as Rekha Sali, filed a formal complaint with the Nigdi Police Station.

As per further information from the FIR accessed by Pune Pulse, the accused, Ganesh alias Mayur Dhawade and Nayan Chavan, took advantage of their positions in the organization to carry out the fraudulent activities. Ganesh, who was given charge of the entire accounting department of the company, is said to have worked with Nayan Chavan, who was in charge of new project expenses at the International Film Institute in Bhel Chowk.

Through a combination of cash withdrawals and check transactions, the accused pair siphoned off a total of Rs 24,30,828 from the company’s account, according to police investigations. They did this by abusing their positions of trust. They tricked the owner and management of the company into believing what they wanted, and their actions went unnoticed.

Hence, the Nigdi Police have booked the 2 accused under Sections 34, 408, 409, 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation into the matter is underway.
