The recent downpours in Bengaluru have thrown daily life into disarray, with many areas experiencing severe flooding and airport operations facing delays. The heavy rains also affected airport operations, leading to delays for more than 20 flights, with several others being rerouted due to the adverse weather conditions. Amidst this turmoil, a touching video has captured the hearts of viewers online. Posted by Instagram user Sharmista ShankaraNarayana, the video features passengers disembarking from an IndiGo flight in a thoughtful and innovative manner.

In the footage shared by Sharmista ShankaraNarayana, IndiGo ground staff at Bengaluru airport can be seen helping passengers as they exit the plane during the heavy rain. They used a large plastic sheet as an improvised canopy to protect the passengers from the rain while guiding them down the stairs to leave the aircraft.

This unique yet caring act has been likened to traditional Indian weddings, where the bride is escorted to the mandap under a ceremonial canopy held by her family and friends.

“This is how I royally deboarded today! Just that there was no dulhan. Thank you Indigo & BIA for ensuring we landed safely. A huge shout out to ground staff who ensured we weren’t drenched while they were shivering, yet helping us,” Sharmista humorously wrote in the caption.

Since it was shared three days ago, the video has garnered nearly 300,000 views and has elicited a wide range of responses from social media users.

One user expressed, “Their appreciation for IndiGo’s hospitality, stating it is truly commendable”. Another user added in, suggesting that, “People need to stop acting immaturely.” Meanwhile, a third user hoped that “IndiGo would extend the same level of care to passenger luggage as they do to passengers”, Someone else wrote, “I can literally here “Din shagana da chadeya…aayo sakhiyoni ni vera sajeyaa” in background.”, Another wrote, “Never knew airlines also started hosting destination wedding ceremonies.”

The comments reflect a mix of appreciation and constructive feedback. Overall, it’s a balanced discussion with both praise and suggestions for enhancement.

It showcases the creativity and dedication of the IndiGo ground crew in a fun and engaging way. The way they came up with a rain shield to protect passengers is not only practical but also adds a personal touch to the travel experience.
