No further restrictions in Maharashtra ; informs Ajit Pawar

In the weekly review meeting held at Pune on January 15, 2022, deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar informed that citizens should follow the restrictions imposed by the state government to curb the spread of Covid19. He also stated that the vaccination drive must be expedited. The decision on imposing any further restrictions shall be taken in the next week after the reviewing the situation in the coming week, he added. Ajit Pawar further informed that in rural areas the vaccination for 15-18 years has received good response and many of them have got vaccinated, the drive should expedite in the urban areas. We are also thinking of holding a drive in the school areas.

Pawar added, “The district administration should take a decision on this soon. Also, it has been reported that many citizens are home testing kits from pharmacy stores. In such cases, the pharmacy stores must record the mobile number of such persons in their daily record. Till date, 1 crore 60 lakh people have been vaccinated. In the 15-18 years category, 43 percent have been given the first dose. Since last week, 30,000 more cases have been reported. Over 4387 people above 60 years of age have been given precautionary dose.”
