Pune: In a bid to enhance transportation services, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has recently launched the Hirkani bus service on the highly traversed Mumbai Mantralaya-Pune route. This new initiative aims to provide improved commuting options for the employees and officers of the Ministry, offering them enhanced convenience and comfort during their journeys.

The decision to introduce the Hirkani bus service came after the previously available buses in the ST fleet experienced a significant decline in passenger numbers due to their deteriorating condition.

In response, the ST Corporation took the proactive step of internally manufacturing new buses, referred to as self-made diamonds. Presently, the central workshop located in Dapodi, Pune is producing a total of 200 new buses, with Raigad, Pune division having already added a Hirkani bus to its fleet.

Starting from today, two Hirkani buses within the Pune division have commenced operations on the Swargate-Mantralaya route. The buses depart from Swargate at 5:45 am and arrive at Mantralaya between 9 am and 9:30 am. Subsequently, the buses are scheduled to reach the Mumbai Central depot by 10 am before returning to Swargate.

With the launch of the Hirkani bus service, commuters travelling between Mumbai Mantralaya and Pune can now enjoy a more efficient and reliable mode of transportation. The MSRTC remains committed to improving the overall commuting experience for passengers, ensuring their journeys are comfortable, safe, and timely.
