OBC Leader Laxman Hake Allegedly Thrashed in Pune’s Katraj-Kondhwa Area
A tense confrontation erupted between OBC leader Laxman Hake and Maratha protesters in the Katraj-Kondhwa area on Monday night. The altercation began when Hake was asked to clarify his stance on Maratha protesters Manoj Jarange-Patil and Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati.
According to reports, some youths accused Hake of drinking alcohol, escalating the dispute. The situation intensified at the Kondhwa police station, where Maratha protesters demanded a medical examination of Hake. Police intervention partially resolved the issue.
Hake denied allegations of alcohol consumption, stating, “I’m ready for any test. This plot was premeditated. Two men were following me, they tried to force me to drink alcohol. A group tried to kill me.” He has filed a police complaint.
Deputy Commissioner of Police R. Raja said, “We’ve heard both sides. Complaints have been filed, and further action will follow after verification.” No arrests have been made, and the medical test will determine whether Hake consumed alcohol or not.
The Maratha community has demanded a thorough investigation and medical examination of Hake.
The police urge calm and assure a thorough probe into the matter. The investigation is ongoing.
