One arrested for hoax bomb call at Pune railway station

Pune: One person was arrested for making a hoax bomb call at the Pune railway station on Saturday early morning. After getting the call the government railway police (GRP) conducted the search operation however nothing was found at the station.

Shrikant Dhivare, Superintendent Police of government railway police said, “A 32-year-old Govind Mande, a watchman by profession, had called the railway stating that a bomb was planted in Pune railway station. During further investigation, it was found that – he had a fight with a co-passenger and in the rage of anger, he called railway police.”

Govind Mande was travelling from Manmad to Pune. He is from Parbhani and currently stays in Katraj, where he was arrested.

“After receiving a call, we conducted the search operation at the station and nothing was found. The matter is serious as the person who made the call seemed to be disturbed,” added Dhivare.
