Outcry In Hinjawadi As Parents, Residents Of Megapolis Serenity Demand Closure Of Liquor Shop Near School
Residents of Megapolis Serenity in Hinjawadi and parents of students at Pawar Public School have raised strong objections against the opening of a wine shop and bar right across from the school premises. The establishment is located in the commercial area of Megapolis Serenity, directly facing the school, raising concerns about its potential impact on schoolchildren.
Concerned parents have approached the school principal and trustee, MP Supriya Sule, highlighting the adverse influence such an outlet could have on young students. They fear that the presence of a liquor shop near an educational institution may set a poor example and create an unsafe environment for children.

Supriya Sule, Member of Parliament from Baramati, has addressed the issue on her official X (formerly Twitter) handle. In her statement in Marathi, she pointed out that the wine shop near the school could have a harmful effect on children and also raise safety concerns for local residents. She has requested the Pune District Collector to take serious note of the matter and initiate appropriate action.
Local leaders, including Ajit Pawar, have also been tagged in social media appeals, as the community continues to push for the bar’s relocation to protect the school environment.
