Over 27,800 Property Owners Clear Dues Under PCMC Amnesty Scheme; ₹80 Crore Collected In 20 Days
Only 20 Days Left to Avail 10% Property Tax Rebate in PCMC
Pimpri-Chinchwad, March 20, 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has reported a strong response to its ‘Abhay Yojana’ (amnesty scheme), with 27,840 property tax defaulters clearing their dues within just 20 days of its launch. The civic body has collected over ₹80 crore during this period.
The scheme, introduced on March 1, 2026, offers significant relief to property owners by providing a 90% waiver on penalty charges if the outstanding tax is paid in a lump sum. The benefit applies to residential, non-residential, industrial properties, and open plots, provided dues up to the financial year 2025–26 are cleared by March 31, 2026.
According to civic officials, between March 1 (10 am) and March 20 (12 pm), thousands of citizens availed themselves of the scheme, receiving a cumulative penalty waiver of ₹19.15 crore. Overall, more than 5 lakh property owners have paid ₹830.05 crore in taxes so far.
PCMC Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi urged remaining defaulters to take advantage of the scheme before the deadline. “The response has been encouraging, and the scheme offers substantial financial relief. Citizens should not wait until the last moment and must clear their dues to benefit from the waiver,” he said.
Mayor Ravi Landge also highlighted that the enthusiastic participation reflects citizens’ trust in the administration and the scheme’s effectiveness in easing financial burdens.
To facilitate payments, the municipal corporation has decided to keep tax collection centres open even on public holidays, including Eid al-Fitr (March 21), Ram Navami (March 26), and Mahavir Jayanti (March 31). Centres will operate daily from 10 am to 5 pm, ensuring convenience for working citizens.
Officials reiterated their appeal to defaulters to utilise the scheme and clear pending dues before March 31 to avail maximum benefits.
