Over 5 lakh Ganesh idols immersed in immersion facilities set up by PMC

Pune residents have responded well to the various facilities provided by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for Ganesh immersion.
As per information, 5,61,428 idols of Ganesh were immersed in the city by the end of Anant Chaturdashi i.e. on September 28. The idols were immersed in 42 hauds, and 568 iron tanks at 265 places built by the PMC. 1,10, 821 idols were collected in 252 idol collection centers (donation centers).
As many as 6, 27, 697 kg of Nirmalya were collected in 256 Nirmalya Kalash containers.
The PMC under the recycling initiative in collaboration with ‘Ecoexist’, ‘Swachh’ and other NGOs, collected and recycled even the Shadu soil of Ganesh idols. The collected idols were re-immersed in a mine at Wagholi.
