Pune, September 5, 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has received a total of 5,496 objections to the proposed ward structure between August 22 and September 4. The final day saw a rush, with 2,899 objections filed in a single day, according to data from the PMC election office.

The Narhe–Vadgaon Budruk ward drew the maximum objections at 2,066, while wards such as Shaniwar Peth–Mahatma Phule Mandai, Deccan Gymkhana–Happy Colony, and Karvenagar–Hingne Home Colony recorded none.

In the Wanwadi–Ramtekdi regional office210 objections were registered till 5 pm on the closing day, Assistant Commissioner Amol Pawar confirmed. Local citizens and associations actively participated in the process, citing inconvenience caused by current ward demarcations.

The Parge Nagar Kondhwa Residents Association also submitted a formal objection regarding Ward 19 boundaries, highlighting long-standing difficulties faced by residents. The association has urged authorities to correct the demarcation at the earliest.

PMC has already begun hearings on these objections. The state government has appointed IAS officer V. Radha to supervise the process. Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram stated that once the hearings are completed, the civic body will submit its report to the state government and the election commission. The final ward structure will be announced after approval.
