Arijit Singh began his Bollywood music career with the 2011 film Murder 2 and has since risen to become one of the industry’s most celebrated singers. Singh first garnered public attention in 2005 as an 18-year-old contestant on the reality show Fame Gurukul. Although he did not win the competition, his talent and dedication to music left an indelible mark, paving the way for his illustrious career.

The Padma awards are India’s highest civilian honors and are presented in three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri. They recognize individuals for their remarkable contributions to fields such as art, social work, public affairs, science, medicine, education, sports, and more.

This year, 137 individuals have been honored with Padma awards, announced annually by the President of India on the eve of Republic Day. Arijit Singh’s inclusion in this prestigious list highlights his enduring impact on Indian music and popular culture.
