PCMC allows schools to re-open from January 4

The schools for Grade 9 – 12 in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation limits were ordered to remain shut till 3 January, 2021, due to the probable wave leading to increase of COVID19 cases in the city. However, after observing the prolonged halt in re-opening the schools and its negative impact on the education of children, PCMC has decided to allow the schools for 9 – 12 standard students to finally re-open from 4 January 2021 by following the fresh guidelines.

PCMC, in its circular has mentioned various guidelines, which the schools have to follow mandatorily.

1) The schools must keep their premises clean along with possessing thermometer, temperature gun, oxymeter, soap and other hand wash.

2) The schools staff and teachers must do a RT-PCR test and submit their reports to the higher authority of the school.

3) The student classrooms and the staff rooms must obey the physical distancing norms.

4) The staff must ensure that they put up posters to advertise use of mask and social distancing in the school premises, applicable for the students and the entire staff.

5) The schools must take consent from the parents before allowing students to attend the classes. Also, the classrooms must be sanitised before and after the classes are over.
