PCMC approves funds for artificial climbing wall in Pimple Saudagar
Enthusiasts can experience the feel of trekking the 17-metres-wall once it is ready.
Pimple Saudagar: An artificial Climbing Wall will be constructed in Pimple Saudagar’s Yoga park. The budget for the wall was approved on January 10 in a standing committee meeting at Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). The construction work of the wall is expected to be completed within six months.
Enthusiasts can experience the feel of trekking the 17-metres-wall once it is ready.
“The wall climbing game is considered an adventure game. In Maharashtra, the game is played by many individuals and artificial walls are available at various places including Pune. So the wall being built at Pimple Saudagar will be the first in Pimpri Chinchwad and people can make use of it,” said Shatrugan Kate, Corporator.
Manoj Sethiya, PCMC executive engineer, said, “In the standing committee budget the proposal for the artificial climbing wall which is a sport played in Olympics has got an approval. To build this wall and install necessary accessories such as grips/holds for hand and feet, the estimated cost is ₹4.43 crores has been approved. The work of the wall will be completed in the next six months.”
