Pimpri, August 7, 2024 – In response to increasing complaints from citizens, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh has launched an aggressive campaign to address potholes across the city’s roads. Special teams are working round-the-clock to resolve the reported potholes.

So far, approximately 989 potholes have been filled by the municipal corporation. The work is being carried out by eight independent teams assigned to different regions, with a focus on addressing and resolving complaints swiftly. Each team has been instructed to inspect all areas and submit daily reports on the potholes they have addressed. Additionally, all teams have been directed to promptly handle any new complaints about potholes, according to City Engineer Makarand Nikam.

Mobile teams have been deployed at all regional offices to address potholes, and officials under the supervision of regional officers and construction executive engineers are conducting thorough inspections of roads. These teams are also working to improve water drainage systems and expedite the repairs of roads. Moreover, punitive actions are being taken against any unauthorized construction, encroachments, or illegal excavation on the roads, as stated by Makarand Nikam.
