PCMC Clears Illegal Constructions Near Joggers Park in Pimpri, 1,500 Sq Metres Encroachment Demolished
Pimpri, May 23, 2026: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation carried out a major anti-encroachment drive near Joggers Park in Ward No. 11, removing illegal constructions spread across nearly 1,500 square metres.
The action was conducted by the civic body’s F Regional Office as part of efforts to keep public spaces, gardens and reserved open areas free from encroachments and unauthorised structures.
The operation was undertaken under the instructions of PCMC Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi and under the supervision of Additional Commissioner Trupti Sandbhor. Several officials from the building permission department, garden department and anti-encroachment wing participated in the drive.

To ensure smooth execution of the demolition operation, authorities deployed 57 personnel from the Maharashtra Security Force along with 17 anti-encroachment police personnel. Six JCB machines, eight labourers and three drivers were also engaged during the action.
Civic officials stated that the demolition drive was aimed at protecting public land and ensuring planned urban development within the city.
Speaking about the operation, PCMC Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi said that keeping public spaces, gardens and open grounds free from encroachments remains a top priority for the civic administration. He added that no compromise would be made against illegal constructions and such actions would continue more effectively in the future to ensure citizen safety and organised city development.
