Pimpri: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has launched an ‘Industrial Facilitation Cell’ to promote industrial and economic investment. This initiative is part of the state government’s ‘100-Day Action Plan’ under the ‘Investment Promotion Action Program.’ The cell has been set up based on the concept of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ to streamline industrial operations.

The primary objective of the Industrial Facilitation Cell is to establish effective communication between the municipal corporation and local industries, resolve industrial issues, and encourage active participation of industries in the city’s development.

Key Objectives of the ‘Industrial Facilitation Cell’

  • • Engaging with businesses, entrepreneurs, and labor organizations to understand and resolve local challenges.
  • • Assisting investors and industrialists with legal and administrative coordination with authorities.

Various Initiatives Undertaken by the Cell

1. ‘Single Window System’ – Industry Sarathi Portal

• PCMC has launched the ‘Industry Sarathi’ Portal for industrial facilitation.

• Portal for registration: https://publicptaxpcmc.in/ifc/index.php or visit the PCMC website and click on the IFC box.

• Grievance Redressal Portal for traders and industrial organizations to register complaints related to industrial licenses and local services.

• Suggestion Box on the portal to collect feedback from industries.

2. ‘Continuous Dialogue Program’ – Strengthening Industry-Administration Coordination

• Monthly meetings between industry representatives and regional officials to discuss and resolve local issues.

• Quarterly meetings at the commissioner level with MIDC, police, and state government representatives to discuss policy matters.

3. Law and Order Coordination

• Coordination with the police department through quarterly meetings to ensure a secure environment for investors and entrepreneurs.

• Ensuring compliance with business regulations to enhance ease of doing business.

4. Local Industrial Participation and CSR Initiatives

• Special initiatives to enhance industry participation in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.

• Guidance and coordination for CSR projects supporting industrial development.

5. Industrial Training and Support

• Collaboration with Auto Cluster and other industrial institutions to organize technical and vocational training programs for MSMEs.

• Providing information and support for government welfare schemes, health, education, and social development for workers and entrepreneurs.

PCMC’s Initiative to Boost Local Investments

The Industrial Facilitation Cell is expected to accelerate local investments, foster industrial growth, and ensure smooth business operations by offering strategic support and essential services. The cell will operate under the guidance of Commissioner Shekhar Singh and be supervised by Nilkanth Poman, Chief Information and Technology Officer. Vijay Wavare, Chief CSR Advisor, will oversee the cell’s operations.
