On 13th February 2024, a horrifying incident took place where a building in Wakad had tilted precariously. Reacting to it, the fire department of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has taken effective & proactive measures to support & stabilize the tilted structure, averting any mishap.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Rushikant Chipade, Chief Fire Officer, PCMC, said “We have evacuated all the residents from the neighbouring building & relocated them to a safe place. With the help of the Police, barricading is done around the tilted building to ensure that nobody enters the building. To stabilize & give leverage to the building, effective support with iron jacks and some other materials has been given. The operation of reducing the load in the building will be started soon for which technical advise is seeked from experts after which the relevant action will be taken. For now, we are on standby as, after further decision from the PCMC comes, action will be taken. However, there is no need to worry as all the emergency provisions are done here.”

Amidst rising concerns, residents of Wakad, Pimpri Chinchwad, faced a daunting situation as a four-story building tilted precariously, triggering fear and uncertainty –

Responding swiftly to the unfolding crisis, emergency services in the area had sprung into action, with fire rescue teams from Pimpri and Thergaon joining forces with the police to ensure the safety of residents and coordinate evacuations.
