PCMC Initiates Encroachment Removal Drive In Chikhli-Kudalwadi Following Fire Incident
PCMC’s Anti-Encroachment Drive In Chikhali Leaves 1 Lakh Jobless, Businesses In Crisis
Pimpri-Chinchwad, December 19: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) undertook a major encroachment removal drive in Ward No. 02 under the jurisdiction of the ‘K’ Regional Office. The operation covered approximately 13,000 square meters of unauthorized constructions, including 30 RCC structures and 45 brick-walled sheds, along the 18-meter-wide DP Road from More Patil Chowk to Kudalwadi Police Station (300 meters) and the 30-meter-wide DP Road from Kudalwadi Police Station to Visava Chowk (550 meters).
The action was carried out under the directives of PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale-Patil, City Engineers Makarand Nikam and Manoj Lonkar. The operation was led by Assistant Commissioners Tanaji Narale, Rajesh Agale, and Sitaram Bahure, along with Executive Engineers Suryakant Mohite and Sunildatta Narote.
The encroachment removal involved two excavators, two JCB machines, and two trucks. Over 56 Maharashtra Security Force personnel, 12 officers and staff from Chikhli Police Station, and additional Maharashtra Police officers provided security during the drive.
PCMC officials have reiterated that unauthorized structures without municipal approval will not be tolerated. The operation will continue on December 19, 2024, as part of ongoing efforts to develop approved DP roads and ensure compliance with the city’s development plans.
Residents are urged to avoid constructing unauthorized sheds or buildings without necessary permissions to prevent similar actions in the future.
