PCMC Launches Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive For Stray And Pet Dogs On World Rabies Day
On the occasion of World Rabies Day, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will begin an anti-rabies vaccination drive for both pet and stray dogs from September 28, 2024. The campaign will be organized across all administrative wards of the corporation.
Under the guidance of PCMC Commissioner and Administrator Mr. Shekhar Singh, Additional Commissioner Mr. Vijaykumar Khorate, and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sandeep Khot, various initiatives are being undertaken to promote animal welfare, reduce human-dog conflict, and prevent zoonotic diseases. The anti-rabies vaccination drive is another step towards making Pimpri Chinchwad rabies-free and protecting citizens from this fatal disease caused by dog bites.
World Rabies Day is observed every year on September 28 to raise awareness about the dangers of rabies and to encourage preventive measures. This year’s theme is “Breaking Rabies Borders.” In line with this, PCMC’s Veterinary Department will be celebrating Rabies Eradication Week, conducting vaccination and awareness campaigns from September 28 to October 5, 2024.
