The demand for convalescent plasma is on the rise for patients of Covid19. Despite various attempts made by several NGOs in the city to organise plasma donation, the city is falling short of convalescent plasma needed for the patients.

The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has decided to give Rs 2000 to each donor. With this move, PCMC aims at encouraging more donors to come forward and donate their plasma. The civic body has also decided to give free plasma bags to private hospitals where Covid patients are undergoing treatment.

PCMC Mayor Usha Dhore had stated that the move is aimed at encouraging more people who have fully recovered from Covid19. This move taken by PCMC makes it the first municipal corporation to offer financial compensation to plasma donors.
