Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation,  for the facilities of the citizens living in the municipal corporation limits, PCMC has taken an initiative to include the work suggested by the citizens in the next year’s budget which is called as participatory budget.

Accordingly, Shekhar Singh, PCMC Commissioner has informed that suggestion applications will be accepted from citizens for the budget of 2024-25.

As per the initiative, citizens can suggest projects for the municipal budget through an online forum. Citizens can suggest any number of projects, each costing up to Rs 10 lakhs. 

However, as per further information, the PCMC has advised that citizens submit the suggestions to any regional office but it is important to submit the application to the relevant office responsible for the specific task. 

As per the information provided, any applications submitted to other regional offices will not be considered in the selection process. By referring to the application number, it is possible to determine whether the task has been accepted within the budget or not. In the context of the participatory budget, citizens are allowed to fill out notice applications. Each individual is limited to one application per task, although they may submit multiple applications for different tasks. 

Applications submitted at any other field office will not be entertained in the selection process. Based on the number of your applications, you can know whether the work has been accepted in the budget or not and the reasons for it.

Also, a person can file a single application for one job however a person can file more applications for multiple jobs. Accordingly, Commissioner Shekhar Singh appealed to the citizens to make useful suggestions and their suggestions would be welcomed. Singh has also encouraged city residents to provide valuable suggestions, assuring them that their input will be appreciated.
