Pune Excise Department officer allegedly assaults club staff at Sangamwadi restaurant - Pune Pulse

Pune: A customer, who was apparently an official of the state excise department, allegedly physically assaulted a personnel of the night club for refusing to give him alcohol after the closing time of the Drama 9 Club at Sangamwadi.
The occurrence came to light after the CCTV footage of it went viral on social media platforms.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Yuvraj Shinde, Deputy Superintendent, State Excise Department, Pune said, “A video clip has come to the forefront about such an incident. Hence, the matter is being further investigated by relevant officers. After the investigation, it would be clear what exactly happened. After obtaining the investigation report, proper action will be implemented.”
As per further information, even though the excise department officer knew that the club was closed at night due to time limits, he was in an inebriated state and kept asking the staff for more alcohol. He started to cause trouble and attacked a hotel manager and waiter over the refusal to supply him with alcohol by the hotel staff.
Thus, the state excise department is investigating the incident further.
