Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is preparing to launch a new digital service, the PCMC pensioner app, which aims to simplify the authentication and timely distribution of pensions to its recipients. This pioneering initiative is expected to be the first of its kind among municipal corporations in the state. A live demonstration of the app was presented on Wednesday, showcasing its innovative features.

Shekhar Singh, PCMC Commissioner presented the PCMC Pensioner App, a novel digital service exclusively designed for PCMC pensioners. This app offers a convenient and efficient way for pensioners to verify their existence and access their pensions through advanced technologies such as face recognition and biometric authentication.

The digital service will benefit 5,728 PCMC pensioners by allowing them to submit their life certificates digitally, eliminating the need for physical visits to government offices. This app provides a hassle-free alternative. The PCMC pensioner app has been developed with the main objective of streamlining and accelerating the verification process for pensioners, guaranteeing the timely distribution of their pensions.

Through the implementation of a digital solution, this application eliminates the need for the conventional manual submission of life certificates, resulting in a reduction of paperwork, time-saving benefits, and a decrease in inconvenience for pensioners.

The PCMC pensioner app offers several key features that aim to simplify the pension process for over 5,000 pensioners associated with the PCMC. These features include mobile login with OTP authentication, digital life certificates, location verification using Google latitude and longitude, biometric authentication with face recognition and thumb biometrics, QR code validation for life certificates, downloadable certificates in PDF format, access to annual statements, and notifications via SMS.

By implementing these features, the app reduces paperwork, saves time, and minimizes inconvenience for pensioners. It represents a significant advancement in the use of technology to streamline pension processes.
