The Air Pollution Control Team constituted by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation conducted a survey on November 22 and imposed fines totalling Rs 2.17 lakh in a single day.
The Ward A collected Rs 10,000 from hotels and bakeries and Rs 8,593 from other violators, resulting in a total fine of Rs 18,593.
In addition, B ward accrued fines amounting to Rs 41,160, with notices issued to address non-compliance with previous directives.
Meanwhile, Ward C’s team visited 10 locations and fined three of them Rs 15,000 each for non-compliance.
Ward D’s air pollution control team collected Rs 10,000 in fines and issued notices to three individuals, while penal action was initiated against two others.
In Ward F, 35 teams underwent comprehensive evaluation, resulting in nine teams being fined a total of Rs 1.25 lakh. Ward F also collected a total fine of Rs 3,000, issued six notices for non-compliance, and inspected four locations in Ward H, resulting in a fine of Rs 5,000 and one non-compliance notice.
