Pimpri Chinchwad anti-narcotics cell seizes gutkha worth Rs 44 lakhs from Ravet

In a recent anti-narcotics operation, the police in Pimpri Chinchwad Police commissionerate seized a large amount of Gutkha worth a total of Rs.44,42,049/-. The operation was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Squad Crime Branch, under the guidance of senior police officials, including Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Chaubey, Joint Commissioner of Police Manoj Lohia, and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Swapna Gore.

According to reports, the police received information from their sources about the illegal sale of banned Gutkha in a shop called Smart Bazar in Gaikwadwasti in Mauje Punavle. Acting on this information, the police raided the shop and found Mahendra Kumar Kanharam Parmar, age 25 years, in possession of the prohibited Gutkha, aromatic tobacco, B Panmasala, and a mobile of a different company. The seized goods were valued at Rs.44,42,049/-.

A case has been registered against three individuals at Ravet Police Station, as the seized goods are believed to belong to Kailas Rathod and Mahendra Rathod from Laxmi Chowk, Hinjewadi, Pune, and Rajasthan. The police have been instructed to take strict action against those involved in the illegal sale and transportation of banned Gutkha in the city.
