Pimpri Chinchwad: Chakan Police Seize 18 Stolen Motorcycles, Arrest 5
In a significant operation, the Chakan Police’s DB squad (detection branch) has successfully dismantled a motorcycle theft ring, recovering 18 stolen motorcycles worth ₹26 lakh and arresting five key suspects. The arrests followed an investigation into the theft of high-end Bullet motorcycles in the industrial areas around Chakan Police Station.
Under the leadership of Senior Police Inspector Pramod Wagh, the team analyzed 100-150 CCTV clips, identifying Abhay Suresh Kharde as a prime suspect. Kharde, who confessed to stealing bikes due to financial losses from online gaming, was caught in Sangamner with accomplices Rabindra Nivritti Gavhane and Subham Balasaheb Kale. The stolen vehicles included Hero Honda Splendour bikes and a Yamaha R15.
